New book describes Jesuskirken 125 years

In November 15, 2016, the book about the Jesus Church, Valby, Copenhagen, was presented. It was exactly 125 years since the church was inaugurated. The book is written by the journalist Erik Udsen in cooperation with the priest in Valby, Frank Bjørn Christensen. The book gives on 313 pages a very thorough and detailed picture of the Jesus Church, its genesis and appearance. The church is known for its many polished columns of granite, of which ten are of granite from Stångehuvud. Few other churches in Denmark are so richly decorated as the Jesus Church.
Erik Udsen has spent four years at work on the book and has visited Stångehuvud in his investigation of the origin of the granite columns in the Jesus Church.

Back to Jesuskirken

The book tells for example about transports of granite by boat from Stångehuvud (Hästevik).
