Enteromorpha intestinalis

This species is usually 2-3 decimeters long and is found on rocks on the shore and in rock pools.

As the latine and one of the swedish names says, it looks like  intestines, which are light green and translucent. These tubular shoots grow from a common root and are often filled with air, and therefore looks puffy  where they, especially at low tide, is located in the water and moves back and forth in the waves. Several related species are found within this genus.

Cladophora

This genus consists of filamentous green algae, some of which can quickly grow in more stagnant and nutrient-rich water. Species in the genus are also found superficial on rocks and cliffs at relatively wave exposed beaches in Stångehuvud.
